Tete Moore who was a former member of the Coalition for Democratic Change Media and Publicity team was allegedly brutalized by men believed to be from the Sabu Unit of the CDC. Tete who was attacked and mercilessly brutalized on Sunday late evening of March 6, 2022, around 8:44 PM told this paper that after beating her, the CDC Sabu Unit dropped her along the road thinking she was already dead given the severe injuries inflicted on her body. According to Madam Tete Moore, she was rescued by a friend named Deborah Teah who took her to the Redemption Hospital in New Kru Town on Bushrod Island for treatment during the same night hours.

“When I visited my sister at the hospital for the past two days, she was recovering speedily but to the dismay of us, when we went to the hospital the third day to see her, she couldn’t be found as the nurses told us that she was discharged and advised to go home”, Cecelia Moore, a sister of Tete Moore told this newspaper.

According to family members, they have been searching everywhere in Monrovia and its environs but there is nowhere their daughter can be found. The family members told this newspaper that they have issued a lawsuit against the hospital and requested that the hospital produces the living body of their daughter.

Missing Tete Moore was one of the loyal supporters of the CDC government but at a certain point, she took to the airwave to call on the President of Liberia, George Weah, to prosecute alleged corrupt officials of the government who have accumulated unexplained wealth and built expensive homes overnight. Others believe that her pious advocacy against ruthless and corrupt public officials didn’t go down well with others in the ranks and file of the government, hence, this may have occasioned her attack, torture, beating, and missing by people believed to be members of the Coalition for Democratic Change.

Tete’s alleged beating by the CDC Sabu Unit brings to bear the total of three members of the party media and publicity team who were beaten, tortured, and in some instances, killed.

Journalist Zenu Miller of OK FM was the first member of the media and publicity team who was allegedly beaten by President Weah’s elite security – the Executive Protection Service, and after two months, he died from internal bleeding on February 15, 2020. The death of journalist Zenu Miller was immediately followed by Chon D. Nagbe, another member of the media and publicity team who fled the country after he was badly beaten to near death.
