Government Strives in the fight against drugs, Arrests huge quantity of narcotic substances worth US$ 77,200

Capitol Hill –  The government of Liberia has successfully intercepted and seized a significant quantity of illegal narcotic substances in Lofa county , border checkpoint with Sierra Leone. The operation, led by joint security team and other Law Enforcement Agencies, marks a major breakthrough in the country’s fight against drug trafficking, a key element under His . Excellency President Joseph Nuymah Boakai ARREST AGENDA for inclusive governance.

Seizure Details

According to the Deputy Minister for  Press and Public Affairs Ministry of Information, Daniel  Sando, said the operation took place in the Foya District, Lofa county, Sierra Leone border with Liberia after intelligence reports indicated the transportation of illicit drugs. Authorities confiscated the alleged perpetrator identified as Fayiah Lamie , (43yrs) a driver who initially claimed to be transporting Slippers and other Clothing materials but contrary to that,  cocaine, heroin, marijuana weighing approximately US $77,200 was found with him.

“The seizure is a strong message to drug traffickers that our country will not be a transit point for illicit substances,”  Minster Sando said. Moreover, reaffirmed government commitment to strengthening border security and enhancing intelligence-sharing mechanisms to combat drug smuggling. He at the same time urged the public to cooperate with law enforcement agencies by reporting suspicious activities.

Law enforcement agencies continue investigations to uncover further links in the drug network and prevent future smuggling attempts.
