I read your retort to me which you unsuccessfully struggled through weak lines as a promiscuous purveyor of garbage to mislead the public that Minister Augustine Kpehe Ngafuan paid Julius Jeh and the Unity Party caller brigade to stage manage the opinion poll conducted recently on the OK FM Afternoon Conversation only to be awarded as ‘Minister of the Year’.

In your retort to me, you accused the Minister of paying for recognitions and awards. Let me set the record straight with facts—something you seem to deliberately avoid in your emotional rants. Firstly, it is an open secret that throughout Minister Augustine Kpehe Ngafuan’s life—from his early academic beginnings to his towering public service career—he has been an award-winning scholar and a distinguished public servant. He does not, and will never, need to pay for any accolades. The weight of his accomplishments speaks louder than any smear campaign you may embark on.

In 1999, Minister Ngafuan graduated from the University of Liberia with the prestigious honour of Summa Cum Laude, the highest distinction in academia. I must ask you directly, Isaac: Are you suggesting that Minister Ngafuan paid for that honour too? Was the University of Liberia bribed to confer upon him its most coveted academic laurel? Your insinuations are not only absurd but an insult to the integrity of one of Liberia’s respected public servants. A man of his stature and accomplishments does not pay for accolades. His life’s journey is littered with merit-based recognition that no sycophantic gimmick can erase.

It would be entirely out of character for Minister Ngafuan to pay for awards or accolades. His stellar reputation precedes him, and his achievements are built on a foundation of diligence, hard work, and integrity. When he served under President Ellen Johnson Sirleaf’s administration from 2010 to 2015, he was repeatedly recognised as ‘Minister of the Year’ and a high-performing public servant. These awards were not whispered by party fanatics but were awarded by independent institutions with indisputable credibility. These records are available for verification. If these awards were bought, Isaac, were you, as Assistant Minister and later Deputy Minister under the same administration, a silent participant in such schemes? Your selective amnesia on these matters is as convenient as it is hypocritical.

Besides, during his tenure, Minister Ngafuan won the National Excellence Award twice in succession as the Best Performing Minister in the Sirleaf administration—a period when you, Isaac Jackson, served as Assistant Minister and later Deputy Minister. Anyone who followed the poll knows that the majority of callers who nominated Minister Ngafuan were not Unity Party loyalists but ordinary Liberians—including members of the Congress for Democratic Change (CDC). The same people who voted your newfound friend, Nathaniel Falo McGill, as Senator of the Year, were among those who celebrated Minister Ngafuan’s excellence. Minister Ngafuan transcends party lines—his respect and adoration are national, not partisan.

It is worth noting that you once described Nathaniel Falo McGill as a ‘condemned rogue who you likened to be richer than God’. You even accused him of stealing poor taxpayers’ money to build a mausoleum for his deceased mother. You asserted that McGill’s mother is in ceaseless tears in her grave simply because McGill, as Minister of State then, dishonoured his mother’s memory by putting her mortal remains in a mausoleum built with poor taxpayers money. Now that he has been crowned ‘Senator of the Year’, why are you now suspiciously quiet like a graveyard? Have you reconciled with him, Isaac? Or are you simply willing to overlook his recognition because it serves your agenda against Senator Dillon, whom you inherently hate? If anyone staged the callers or the opinion poll, I’m left to believe it is you, Isaac, because of your inherent hate for Senator Dillon.

Your selective outrage is glaring, Isaac. You seem eager to cast stones at Minister Ngafuan while turning a blind eye to your own contradictions. Such blatant hypocrisy weakens your arguments and exposes the hollowness of your critique. Minister Augustine Ngafuan’s credibility stands taller than the fleeting shadows of your accusations.
