MONROVIA, Liberia (November 25, 2024) – ArcelorMittal Liberia has been celebrated for its significant contributions to Liberia’s economy, receiving four prestigious awards from the Liberia Revenue Authority (LRA) during the annual Taxpayers Appreciation & Awards ceremony held in Monrovia over the weekend.

The global steel giant was lauded as the ‘Highest Contributor Overall for 2022’ and the ‘Second Highest Contributor Overall for 2023,’ cementing its reputation as a cornerstone of the country’s revenue generation. Additionally, ArcelorMittal Liberia secured the title of ‘Highest Custom Duty Paying Concessionaire’ for both 2022 and 2023, a testament to its compliance and commitment to national development.

These awards further bolster ArcelorMittal Liberia’s already impressive track record in fiscal responsibility. The company has previously been honored with the Gold Award as the highest taxpayer for three consecutive years, highlighting its unwavering dedication to tax compliance and economic contribution.

At the awards ceremony, LRA officials commended ArcelorMittal Liberia for setting a high standard in tax payment practices. Receiving the awards on behalf of the company, Marcus S. Wleh, Head of Sustainability and External Relations, and Dorbor Kpangbala, Finance Manager, expressed gratitude to the government and the people of Liberia.
