As Phase-II Expansion Projects continue, the steel giant has joined community leaders to officially break ground for a playground in Zoweinta, Bong County.
The event took place on March 10, 2023, at the Nyofarkollie Elementary and Junior High School located in Zoweinta Bong County.
ArcelorMittal-Liberia Community Relations Officer, Hilton Gortor said the significance of the playground could not be overemphasized given its crucial impact on the development of children in the area.
He said the project will enable children of all ages to relate to each other away from their homes, and develop special childhood memories that could last forever.
“ArcelorMittal-Liberia is pleased to break grounds today for this project and we believe the kids in the host communities will have the time to refresh their minds and also make new friends”, he added.
Meanwhile, Bong County Electoral District One Representative Albert Hills extended appreciation for the project and said, he and his citizens “appreciate” ArcelorMittal-Liberia “for this landmark project”.
Said Rep Hills: “We appreciate ArcelorMittal-Liberia for thinking about us in bringing this project. Imagine we have lots of host communities but without us writing a proposal for this huge and very important project ArcelorMittal-Liberia still selected our community, we are grateful”.
“We are calling on our citizens to fully give all necessary support to the team from Africa Development Management Associates (ADMA) that has come to do this project for ArcelorMittal-Liberia. The security of materials is highly needed”.
The lawmaker believes the project will encourage many children of Zoweinta who are not in school to return to the classroom.
“This is one of the best projects ever and we are again grateful to ArcelorMittal-Liberia”, he concluded.
ArcelorMittal and its partner have hired local contractors who are concluding the fabrication of all playground equipment both in Monrovia and Ganta.
Grand Bassa’s Frank Diggs Towns and Yekepa’s Camp#4 communities will benefit the similar project as groundbreaking ceremonies in Grand Bassa Frank Diggs community are expected this Friday, March 17, 2023
All three projects are expected to meet completion by the end of April.
Your point of view caught my eye and was very interesting. Thanks. I have a question for you.
